Technology Comparison

A Replacement Pump That Knows How Much Water Is Moving.

Ordinary variable-speed pumps operate at a selected RPM. But RPM alone cannot tell you how much water reaches your filter, heater and pool. Nautis™ VSF uses its integrated FlowVis® meter to measure actual GPM, then Adaptive Flow™ adjusts motor speed to help maintain the target you select.

Set the Goal. Nautis Handles the Speed.

Choose the flow rate you want or set a turnover goal based on your pool’s volume and circulation schedule. Nautis automatically adjusts pump speed as conditions change, helping keep circulation aligned with your settings.

Behavior Nautis™ VSF Conventional Replacement
You set Desired GPM RPM

When filter begins loading Nautis senses the change Flow can decrease at fixed RPM
When valve position changes Nautis adapts Flow may change at fixed RPM
Actual GPM Continuously measured Not measured by RPM alone
Adjustment Automatic Often requires manual speed changes
Simple Drop-In Engineering

Made for the Equipment Pad You Already Have

Replacing a pump should not automatically mean rebuilding the equipment pad. Nautis™ VSF was dimensioned with several common pump families in mind, so many installations are straightforward drop-in replacements.

2" Connections

Every Nautis™ VSF uses 2" suction and discharge ports with internal threads and quick-disconnect unions included.

Riser Included

Replacing a taller pump? The base plate riser ships with every Nautis™ VSF in the box for WhisperFlo® and IntelliFlo® retrofits.

115V or 230V

The 1.65 THP NAU-V165 accepts either 115V or 230V, ideal for replacing older 115V pumps without electrical panel upgrades.

Built for Service

Four-bolt housing, integrated handle, quick-disconnect unions, ergonomic lid lock ring, and an internal basket LED.

Three Adaptive Flow Models Available

NAU-V165 1.65 THP · 115V / 230V
NAU-V270 2.7 THP · 230V
NAU-V345 3.45 THP · 230V

Model sizing depends on the existing equipment and the pool's hydraulic requirements; total horsepower alone is not a complete fitment check.

Adaptive Flow Payoff

More Confidence in Every Gallon — and More Value From Every Run Cycle.

Adaptive Flow™ continuously responds to measured flow instead of assuming that a fixed motor speed will always deliver the same circulation.

Every Nautis™ VSF includes a FlowVis® flow meter, FlowVis digital sensor and Adaptive Flow™ motor controller. Measured-flow control comes built in, not as separately purchased add-ons.

Consistent circulation

Flow can remain aligned with the turnover target instead of quietly changing as hydraulic conditions change.

More predictable heater operation

Heating equipment depends on water flow. Nautis gives the system a measured flow target rather than relying on an assumed relationship between RPM and GPM.

Energy-aware operation

When less speed is required to maintain the target flow, Nautis can reduce it rather than continuing to operate at a higher RPM than the system needs. That can help reduce energy use, especially compared with older single-speed operation. Actual savings depend on the pool, schedule and system conditions.

Visibility and control

BlueSync™ gives owners and service professionals access to live flow rate, pump speed, power draw and runtime information, so the system is easier to monitor and adjust.

Got Questions?

Questions Before You Order

Compatibility, wiring and installation details matter. Here are answers to the questions most likely to affect your replacement decision.

Will Nautis™ VSF fit my existing plumbing? +
Nautis™ VSF uses 2" suction and discharge ports with internal threads and quick-disconnect unions. Many common modern installations can therefore be accommodated without rebuilding the equipment pad, although existing plumbing and the pump being replaced determine the final installation requirements. Taller WhisperFlo® and IntelliFlo® applications use the included riser and require discharge-side replumbing.
Does the riser cost extra? +
No. The base plate riser is included with every Nautis™ VSF pump in the box. It is only needed on taller-pump replacements, but it is included either way at no additional charge.
How do I know which Nautis model replaces mine? +
Start with the replacement selector above. Nautis models should be matched using total horsepower (THP) and actual system requirements rather than relying solely on the nominal horsepower printed on an older motor. If anything is unclear, send H2flow Controls or your dealer the model number or a photo of your equipment pad before ordering.
I’m replacing a 115V pump. Do I need an electrical upgrade? +
Not necessarily. The NAU-V165 accepts either 115V or 230V. NAU-V270 and NAU-V345 require 230V. Your installer or electrician should confirm the existing circuit and installation requirements.
Will Nautis work with my pool automation? +
Yes. Nautis™ VSF provides discrete switch inputs for integration with most major automation platforms, while setup, scheduling, target-flow selection and connected monitoring are handled seamlessly through the BlueSync™ app.
What is the warranty, and where is the pump made? +
Nautis™ VSF carries a 2-year limited manufacturer warranty. The pump is assembled in the United States by H2flow Controls.
